The Advanced Training Package is designed to strengthen the foundation skills your dog has already learned and apply them in real life environments with increasing levels of distraction.

While many dogs understand their cues inside the home, the true goal of training is reliability. This means your dog can respond to your cues even when the world around them is exciting or distracting.

In this program we focus on refining and strengthening the following behaviors:

• Sit
• Down
• Recall (coming when called)
• Stay
• Loose leash walking
• Leave It
• Attention and focus behaviors
• Settling calmly in distracting environments

For example, we may work toward bringing your dog to dog friendly breweries, restaurants, parks, or stores where your dog can calmly relax beside you while life happens around them.

Throughout the program we focus on three key components that create reliable behavior.

Distance:
Your dog will not always be right beside you. We will practice responding to cues even when your dog is further away from you.

Duration:
Your dog will learn to maintain behaviors for longer periods of time. This helps build patience, impulse control, and reliability.

Distractions:
Real life includes people, dogs, smells, sounds, and movement. We will teach your dog how to remain responsive to your cues even when distractions are present.

Because this program focuses on applying skills in real life situations, many sessions may take place outside of the home, such as parks, neighborhoods, and dog friendly public locations.

To support recall training and distance work, a long training lead is included with this package for you to keep so you can safely practice these exercises between sessions.

Completion of the Beginner Training Package is required before enrolling in the Advanced Training Package.

How to Prepare for Class:

• Treat pouch/ Treat bag (can be found at any pet store).

• Plenty of high value of treats that your dog loves.

• No shock/ electric, choke, or prong collars allowed.

• Non-Retractable Leash.
